Starting tomorrow, Friday, a total of 316 trains on the Sealdah Main Branch will be canceled for six consecutive days in the Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway. This will cause significant inconvenience to thousands of passengers, particularly commuters traveling from Naihati to Lalgola.
Eastern Railway sources have confirmed that essential work will be carried out to commence the automatic third line between Naihati and Kalyani. As a result, train services between Naihati and Ranaghat will be disrupted from tomorrow. Consequently, a total of 46 trains will be canceled on Friday, including up and down services.
Reports state that four long-distance trains will not operate, and an additional 54 trains, including up and down services, will be canceled from Saturday to Wednesday. The affected trains include Sealdah to Naihati local, Kalyani border local, Krishnanagar local, Shantipur local, Ranaghat local, Burdwan local, Bandel local, and Katwa local.
Furthermore, many long-distance trains will also be canceled, such as Sealdah Asansol Intercity Express, Sealdah Jangipur Road Memu, Sealdah Rampurhat Express, and Sealdah Lalgola Passenger. During this six-day period, several trains will be diverted from Sealdah via Bangaon-Ranaghat, and trains will be sent to Sealdah via the same route.
